About 95 federal districts courts were below the federal courts. The Supreme Court located in Washington, and other federal courts are located in various cities throughout the United States. Judges for federal court are appointed for life or until they retire voluntarily. Judges can be removed from office only via a laborious process of impeachment and trial in the Congress. A chief justice and eight associate justices are working in Supreme Court.
